PLANNED GIVING
Planned giving allows you to realize potential income and transfer tax savings, while helping to ensure the long-term success of Valley CAC. There are a variety of forms that your deferred gift can take, including charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts, insurance beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, and other deferred-giving opportunities.
GIFTS OF APPRECIATED STOCK
Giving appreciated stock or mutual funds to Valley CAC gives you an extra tax benefit, because you can deduct the current value of the investment as a charitable contribution if you itemize, and you can also avoid paying capital-gains taxes on the profits. In contrast, you would owe capital-gains taxes if you sold the stock first and then gifted the proceeds to Valley CAC.
CHARITABLE IRA ROLLOVER
If you are over 70 1⁄2, you may be able to make tax-free charitable gifts of up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA. To qualify for the charitable IRA rollover, a gift must be: (1) made by a donor age 70 1⁄2 or older, (2) transferred from the taxpayer’s traditional or Roth IRA directly to a permissible public charity, such as Valley CAC, and (3) completed during the applicable tax year. If your gift qualifies, the contribution will be excluded from your income and also count toward your required minimum distribution for the applicable tax year.
VOLUNTEER
The Valley CAC is always searching for dedicated community members who are committed to the mission of raising awareness and combatting child abuse. We host several community awareness and fundraising events throughout the year that we can always use help with. You can serve on a planning committee or help us just on event day. It’s a short-term way to make a big impact!
INTERNSHIP
Internships are placements made as part of an academic or professional training program where they offer a meaningful learning experience and practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. Valley CAC interns are typically pursuing a degree in psychology, counseling, social work, pre-law, communications, or non-profit business administration, with priority given to Master’s level students. However, we are currently looking to expand our internship program to graphic design, marketing, and public relations students as well. Creating impactful internships that allow students to get an introduction to the multifaceted work done here at the CAC is a priority. Therefore, our application process is very selective.

DONATE GOODS & SERVICES
Valley CAC greatly appreciates all the generous donations that we receive, often in the form of goods and services. We have had furniture, books, therapy supplies and other items given to our center, as well as auction items from companies for our events in the community. Services in legal, accounting, and contracting fields have also been received, reducing our operating experiences. Whatever your talent, we would be very grateful for any assistance you could provide!
If you would like to donate goods or services, contact charle@valleychildrenscenter.org.
CREATE A FUNDRAISER
Valley CAC is grateful for the opportunity to be chosen as a recipient for fundraising events held by community members and organizations. These events give us the chance to inform the community about our important services, as well as raise much-needed revenue for our mission.
